Lanz was born into a family of artists, and from a young age, he felt a strong vocation for the arts, influenced by the works of his uncle Hermenegildo Lanz, a renowned artist and friend of Federico García Lorca and Manuel de Falla. From the age of four, accompanied by his parents and twin sister, Lanz became a frequent visitor to the major museums of the capital, such as the Prado Museum and the Lázaro Galdiano Museum, among others.
